Morris Soccer Association Parent/Guardian Volunteer Policy
Morris Soccer Association (MSA) is a not-for-profit organization that works extremely hard to develop soccer skills and sportsmanship in the youth of the Morris, Illinois area. In order to accomplish these objectives many volunteers are needed to do tasks for MSA. Many of these tasks don’t require specific soccer knowledge or expertise.
The MSA Parent/Guardian Volunteer Policy was adopted on April 11, 2011 by the full MSA Board of Directors. This policy is NOT a fundraiser but rather a method to increase volunteerism for MSA.
Parent/Guardian Volunteer Policy
· Each MSA family is expected to serve three (3) hours per season, regardless of the number of children playing in MSA.
· All families that currently have a parent that serves MSA as a Team Coach or Assistant Coach, Adult MSA Referee or MSA Board of Director shall be considered to pre-fulfill the spirit of this document, and that family will not be required to participate further in order to satisfy this policy in regards to the current soccer season.
· All families receiving a soccer scholarship will automatically be required to fulfill the requirement of volunteering three (3) hours per season and will have first choice of volunteer task(s).
· A Volunteer deposit will be collected from the oldest child in each family turns in a $75.00 check in exchange for their uniform. The volunteer deposit check will be held by the MSA Board of Directors.
· After removing exempt and scholarship families, a lottery system will decide the order of volunteer assignment for the remaining tasks throughout the season.
· When contacted for volunteer task(s) assignment the family must choose and execute the task(s). If a family chooses not to pick a task(s) or fails to complete the task(s) they will forfeit their volunteer deposit and their $75.00 check will be cashed.
· Families that are not contacted for volunteer task(s) assignment will get their uncashed check returned at the end of the season. · Verification of policy fulfillment will be executed by the supervising MSA Board Member. The MSA Board Member will record attendance and release the volunteer upon task completion.
